Position

As Director of Campus Ministry, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to work with approximately 530 exceptional, gifted young men, talented faculty, and committed staff. Located in New York City, Regis High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school and the only Jesuit, full-scholarship high school in the country. The school was founded in 1914 through the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous woman and her family. Regis now relies on philanthropy of alumni, parents, and friends as its most significant source of financial support.

Position Summary

Regis High School seeks a mission-driven Director of Campus Ministry to join its Ignatian Identity and Formation team. A practicing Catholic eager to contribute to the local Church of New York and the work of the USA East Province of the Society of Jesus, the Director of Campus Ministry coordinates the school’s liturgical life in collaboration with colleagues and Jesuit clergy. The Director of Campus Ministry oversees the retreat program for the entire student body and works directly with students in helping to foster a deeper sense of Catholic faith and Ignatian spirituality. The Director of Campus Ministry collaborates with the Director of Belonging, Dignity, and Justice and the Director of Service and Justice Initiatives to create and lead special events that promote justice and Christian service on the part of the student body.

Job Responsibilities

● Advance the Jesuit mission and apostolic orientation of the Regis High School in collaboration with the administration and the principles of the school.

● Coordinate logistics and resource personnel for the Freshman Retreat, Sophomore Quest retreats, Junior retreats, Senior Emmaus, the Father-Son Retreat, and Ignatian Silent retreats.

● Identify, train, and support student leaders and staff chaperones for each of the retreat experiences offered at Regis; the Director of Campus Ministry will be lead chaplain for two Quest retreats and one Emmaus retreat.

● Facilitate liturgical worship in the Regis community by coordinating school liturgies for special events, calling upon members of the Regis community to help conduct these liturgies, and making necessary arrangements with St. Ignatius Loyola Church for liturgies celebrated at the parish.

● Promote and encourage the devotional life of students, growth in Ignatian spirituality, and other opportunities corresponding to the needs of the Regis community that help to foster a life of faith in young people.

● Support students in collaboration with Student Life and School counseling.

● Collaborate with students in composing and leading morning and afternoon prayer for the school community.

● Encourage participation in daily liturgies as well as attendance based on natural affinity groups (advisement groups, clubs, teams, etc.).

● Administer opportunities for the communal celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation throughout the school year.

● Collaborate with the Director of Service and Justice Initiatives in the implementation of the Christian Service Program, including the third-trimester Social Justice Seminars and Service Immersion trips.

● Serve as a lead chaperone for one summer immersion trip.

● Provide summertime oversight of programming and planning with attention to program design and revision toward greater efficacy of mission.

● Assist REACH at Regis (late July - mid August) by leading and designing Chapel services and offering administrative help and ministerial presence to the students and staff.

● Coordinate and lead the Peer Ministry Retreat that takes place annually during the week prior to Labor Day.

● Perform responsibilities in conformity with the policies of Regis and is subject at all times to the general control and supervision of the Administration.

Education

• B.A. | B.S. in Theology or related field

• M.A. in Theology or related field

Preferences

● 5+ years’ experience in a ministerial setting.

● Experience working with adolescents in a high school setting.

● Excellent organization and communication skills.

● The qualified individual will be motivated by the Gospels, committed to the practice of the faith, and enthusiastic in the work of encouraging the growth of the spiritual lives and religious practice of the entire student body.

● As a person steeped in Catholic education and formation, he/she will be eager to inspire students to know and practice the tenants of Catholic Social Teaching.

● Versed in Ignatian spirituality, the Director of Campus Ministry will lead and promote the Spiritual Exercises, the Examen, guided meditations and other riches of the Ignatian tradition.

Status

This is a full-time, 11-month position, with the 12th month accounting for a combination of accrued vacation and summer flex days. Start date August 17, 2026.

Reporting structure

Reports directly to VP of Ignatian Identity & Formation.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range $80,000.00 - $90,000.00, commensurate with years of experience. Most benefits go into effect immediately. Participation in 403 (b) occurs after one year of employment.
