
Major Gifts Officer

Position Summary
Regis High School seeks a mission-driven and experienced Major Gifts Officer individual to play a pivotal role on the Advancement Team. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building relationships and closing gifts. Major Gifts Officer focuses on the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors to help secure leadership gifts to the Annual Fund, the campaign, and planned gifts to our endowment.
Job Responsibilities
Portfolio
- Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects (Regis alumni, current parents, parents of alumni, and friends of Regis), cultivating strong relationships that lead to significant Annual Fund, capital campaign, and planned gifts. This requires regular contact through face-to-face visits, written correspondence, phone calls, and events (in NY and beyond).
- Maintain consistent and high-quality communications with donors by identifying specific donor interests and providing a steady stream of news about Regis—all with the goal of deepening donors’ connection to the school.
Engagement
- Inspire and support fundraising volunteers in their efforts to help secure gifts to capital campaigns.
- Manage the Senior Parent Gift initiative; manage a group of volunteers and set fundraising goals. Work with volunteers on solicitations, matches and overall class efforts.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with other frontline fundraisers and the Annual Fund team in the analysis of and outreach to the school’s most supportive donors at key moments during the fundraising calendar with the goal of renewing and upgrading gifts in donor portfolios. Engage with other fundraisers in developing comprehensive engagement strategies and stewardship programs for all major donors.
- Contribute to a data-driven culture by documenting meetings, interactions, and correspondence with donors in the donor database, emphasizing the highest standards of accuracy, timeliness, thoroughness, and confidentiality.
- Supports and is willing to advance the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school.
- Works in collaboration with the administration in observing the principles and ideals for which Regis stands.
- Performs responsibilities in conformity with the policies of Regis and is subject at all times to the general control and supervision of the Administration.

Qualifications & Skills
- A self-starter with the ability to initiate and follow through on new programs and projects both alone and as part of a team.
- A leader and team player with the ability to lead and contribute to Advancement Office projects. This includes coordinating with colleagues to achieve desired outcomes, prioritizing short- and long-term tasks, and tracking and reporting on progress to goals.
- Strategic, creative, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to engage with a diverse group of individuals.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge is a must.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Google suite.
- Some evenings and weekends are required for this position.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in business, communications, liberal arts, non-profit management, or other related fields is preferred.
A minimum of three to five years of professional advancement experience and/or relevant experience in another industry/field.
Status
This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Reporting structure
Reports directly to the Director of Major Gifts.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range commensurate with years of experience. This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position with a competitive salary and generous benefits package including medical, dental and life insurance first day of employment. Participation in a 403(b) plan occurs after one year of employment. The salary range is $80,000.00 - $93,000.00, commensurate with years of experience and qualifications. This position typically requires a 40-hour, on-site work week, Monday-Friday, but may require additional on-call, evening, or weekend work on rare occasions. Successful completion of a background check is required.
