Position

As an Alumni Service Corp - Alumni Mentor you will have the extraordinary opportunity to work with exceptional young men, talented faculty, and dedicated staff. Located in New York City, Regis High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school and the only Jesuit, full- scholarship high school in the country. The school was founded in 1914 through the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous woman and her family. Position Summary

The mentor is a key resource person for students who have been asked to take part in the Alumni Mentor Program (AMP), based on the student’s academic difficulties. The mentor’s primary role is to thus support and strengthen the student services program. The mentor will be expected to provide guidance to AMP students in their academic progress at Regis High School and assist in overcoming the challenges they face in their classes. Regis seeks a qualified candidate to join its faculty as an Alumni Mentor beginning September 2026 for the Academic Year 2026-2027. This is a full-time faculty position with benefits. Work hours may vary and will include some evenings and weekends for special school events. The 2026-2027 school year for faculty members ends on June 15, 2027.

Job Responsibilities

  • Consult regularly with teachers of students involved in the program
  • Set up and monitor tutoring and study groups in subjects needed by participants
  • Confer during the class day with individual AMP students on matters of organization and study practice, and, when their schedules permit and such does not come at the expense of their duties in AMP
  • Play a supporting role in other academic (REACH), formational, and extracurricular programs offered by the school
  • Provide regular updates on the progress of program participants at weekly meetings of the Student Services Committee and take part in small school counseling classes with freshmen and sophomores, depending upon the particular topic and activities to be undertaken at any given session
  • Guide members to successful use of their time and the resources at Regis
  • Foster better communication skills for AMP members with faculty
  • Supports and is willing to advance the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school
  • Any other assigned tasks

  • Experience in tutoring and mentoring
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated academic success in high school and/or college
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G suite

Education

A bachelor’s degree is required.

Status

This is a full-time position, from 9.1.26 thru 6.15.27.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary $26,000.00 

Most benefits go into effect immediately.

Other expectations 

A willingness to work at times outside the normal school day and school year, including weekend events and summer immersions.
